I think Wicked has definitely been one of the most extreme examples.
It's true that whenever something like a new Disney film or Shrek has had their own share of advertising - but Wicked just seems to be literally EVERYWHERE.

Just today I went to the supermarket and there were beauty gift sets lined up by the checkout (because Christmas is coming up) and pretty much every isle had some kind of food collaboration with Wicked. I get advertising to kids, but it's like they're trying to appeal to absolutely everyone. I really don't get it.
