Oh my god the double usage of annus has me rolling. It makes absolutely zero sense to just chuck that into the middle of a perfectly normal(?) English sentence.

Re: annus - I shake my head when fantasy authors who are desperate for world building details just randomly choose a more complicated word out of the thesaurus (or make one up) in order to not sound so basic. It doesn't work, guys.
