Maybe you could make the issue about safety instead of preference? If they’re giving you headaches, she shouldn’t be burning them. Look into reports about what is in those candles and the ethicality of them, that might do the trick. Or gift her a candle warming light on the pretense it will extend the life of her candles. It will but also the scent isn’t as overpowering and for candles that are only moderately toxic, it may make them significantly safer from a health perspective(it depends on what’s in the candles).
