I never read the Wizard of Oz books but I enjoyed reading Wicked by Maguire and adore the musical, but absolutely hate everything I've seen about the movie and have zero interest in it.

I keep saying the original books are on my TBR but I never seem to be in the right mood to tackle them.

nah, I get you. it does take being in a mood, they're usually a short read like a whole book a night, but so soft and quiet and if you're looking for something meaty or heavy in plot, Oz is not that.
