Yes, I wasn't watching SPN and in fact put off watching it for years because some fans were insane. But Tumblr, sure, and how that turned into Neo purity is the most thing to happen to fandom culture. Where you're not 'allowed' to like certain shows, ships, characters, actors, authors, producers - but you have to support certain other ships/fandoms/people/opinions or else.
