Re: Why are all the fun things terrible for the world?
(Anonymous) 2025-12-08 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)It's just that while it sounds fun, I personally wouldn't be able to go on a cruise trip and if anyone else feels similar, I understand.
Also, the defensive, "Well I do! And I love it!" sort of responses usually keep me quiet when cruise trips comes up.
I am not intentionally trying to call anyone out for participating in cruise trips. I am simply stating that I personally would feel too guilty to go on a cruise, and that is why I feel sad that cruise trips sound fun.
And FTR, I have never told my friends my feelings about cruise trips or do the, "Well, actually-" line when they talk about making plans or their experiences during their trips. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer.
Thread OP was venting and I was commiserating. They're not personal attacks on people who do enjoy it.
I do enjoy hearing people's experiences.
My boss's birthday cruise sounded fun. She took beautiful pictures.
Some of my friends went on a lovely sounding European cruise this past summer. They invited me but I declined. It looked and sounded like a lot of fun.
