I've read the original book, as an adult, and Dorothy is hardly a badass. She's a bit mouthy sometimes and maybe that made her seem badass when you were kids, but it doesn't do her any favors, it just makes her seem stupid and reckless. Movie Dorothy is exactly the same. I think you guys are suffering from serious nostalgia goggles with your badass Dorothys.
