I agree that most of the hype comes from being able to watch her art and storytelling progress as she works on it. As an artist, I find it extremely inspirational, and I can't help but wonder if OP is an artist whose work is not getting any love. Sounds like butthurt to me.

I personally am impressed with the amount of love I have for the characters, and how much I feel that I already know them, from how little she's actually shown us so far. To me, that is what screams talent, and that's how I know the end product is going to be good.

I proudly bought the shirt, because I want to keep her enthusiasm going, and I want to support a fellow artist who is busting her ass to finish this WHILE working full time and not getting any monetary gain from the work she's producing on her own time. I know by experience that having a drive to use up all your free time on creative work is exhausting and not completely awarding.

"You're just jealous" is a fucking weak argument and using it makes you look like an immature fanbrat. If anyone sounds butthurt it's fantwats like you who react to anything negative with retarded assumptions about the OP based on nothing but wishful thinking and most likely a fair amount of projection, especially when you bawww about how she has to *gasp* work full time!

I agree that it's a pretty weak argument, but to be fair, it's a pretty weak secret that doesn't stand up a simple scan of the comic and the artist's journal. For example, calling [livejournal.com profile] gallo_de_pelea arrogant is like calling Meghan Fox obese. It's so untrue that it's laughable.

I don't know anything about the artist to be honest. "you're just jealous" is a really fucking terrible argument, no matter what it's in reply to.

Yes, I'm the immature fanbrat, because I'm the one who is slinging insults and flipping out.

Also, I think I was being more than forward about my "projecting," since I admitted that I don't have the resolve to keep up her amount of passion for any of my projects.

I don't really know why you think it's easy to work full-time and also come home to work full-time on a creative project, nor do I understand why you think that I'm bawwing about it.

The reason I think that there's jealousy involved is because of the amount of hate the OP is exhibiting in their secret. People don't have that strong of a reaction to something unless there is a driving emotional response behind it.

I wouldn't have bothered to comment on this secret myself, if I didn't feel so strongly that this negative reaction was undeserved. I'm not pretending to think that my opinion would change the OP's (or the other posters who are in agreement) mind, I'm merely unafraid to state my opinion of the circumstances.

I honestly don't care what you or any of your sort think, but I can imagine that this secret might be a discouraging blow to the artist, and I wanted my support to be heard by her if she happened to read the comments. I want to see the finished product, not have it ruined because someone had to rain on everybody's parade.

Yes, accusing anyone who disagrees with you of being butthurt makes you sound like an immature fanbrat. When youre mature you'll understand that it's possible to dislike something without having a personal grudge against it's creator. That said, maybe it is somebody with a grudge against her who made the secret. I didn't get that from the secret but maybe you have special knowledge of the Op or something.
And frankly if the artist is so thinskinned that she gives up over one negative secret, even with all the people supporting her in the comments then she shouldn't be an artist anyway. or at least she shouldn't post it on the internet where someone might say something negative. As I said elsewhere I don't really know anything about her but I don't believe anyone is above criticism.

Honestly, my only intent was to defend something that I enjoy. I'm sorry if you or OP took particular offense to my language when I suggested that the OP seemed to be displaying anger that I equated to personal jealousy.

I agree, everyone deserves criticism, however, I don't think they deserve to be told that they aren't worth the positive feedback they've gotten.

but I don't believe anyone is above criticism.

...And the "criticism" was where, exactly, except directed toward fans?

Well, hello there, OP! :D

and psst, your vitriol isn't helping your case one bit!

(Anonymous) 2009-11-17 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
It won't become true no matter how many times you keep repeating it, artist-of-TJandAmal. I'm not even the same anon as above. your butthurtness isn't helping your case one bit.
