I don't think it'll ruin him-- a cheating scandal alone rarely does. But, I think that it's going to dim his appeal for a certain audience, and I'm not sure that prev's assertion that sticking to the stage is going to be what's most helpful for him. I think his best and most charming work has been musicals, but that's the audience that's going to be most aware of the cheating.

Guys who love wolverine aren't going to give a shit. It's the women who thought he was so charming in Oklahoma! and who thought a not-inconsiderable amount of his appeal as a romantic lead came from the fact that he stayed with his wife after getting famous instead of trading her in for a hotter, younger model, who are going to be soured on him. Most of them will forgive that in time, but he has a market of people who know who Sutton Foster is and a market of people who don't. If I were him, I'd focus on courting the ones who don't for now.
