I think Asmongold plays things up, like the whole "Oh I have a dead rat on my windowsill and when the sun gets high enough that it heats it up enough to stink it wakes me up" doesn't seem real at all. I just don't believe it. I think he's crafting a persona and people are buying it when it's mostly fake.

The change to make Nessarose's storyline less *ableist* is so stupid. The whole point is that the abelist is Nessarose, who thinks the only reason she could possibly not be adored by Boq is her disability, and not her rotten personality.

I was actually surprised to see the movie otherwise lean into the idea that Nessa is a spoiled brat whose life of coddling and preferential treatment turned her into a monster. I saw the movie with my sister and kept whispering to her, "and this is how a bitch gets a house dropped on her".

This is broadly true of all streamers who aren't upfront that they are actors and performers who are performing and acting. IMO people who believe their personas wholly and blindly are both equally falling for an act designed to grab attention, whether it's to hate or to love.

Before someone complains about it: you can love someone's act and find it and its performer entertaining, or can hate someone's act and find it and its performer distasteful - those are different from believing it's totally real.

I don't condone his cheating. I don't have an opinion on whether or not he and his affair partner should be cancelled, or for how long, or what. But I AM curious to see if his reputation can survive it. When a celebrity was so well loved and then they did something that’s not great, but falls short of being totally evil so a comeback is theoretically possible, well… will it happen or won't it? It's like a social experiment.
