(Anonymous) 2025-12-11 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)I personally have always liked Hugh Jackman in the movies I've seen him in. I think I would have sort of lost some fan adoration for him had it simply been reported that he cheated and he and his ex-wife split, but ultimately it wouldn't change my perception of him as an actor. Would have kept watching his films, shows, public PR work without much thought.
But the weird ways I've come across the story has me sort of side eyeing him. It feels purposeful in trying to bury the story, changing up narratives about whether or not he was cheating, a pointed effort in being public during his most recent PR work but avoiding interviews in which the possibility of having to sit with hearing someone even ask/hint about topics he likely doesn't want brought up.
Maybe I'm just reading too much into it and been watching too much yapper commentary videos. But Hugh Jackman is one of those actors who I get weird vibes from now. However, if he's in a project I'm interested in his presence wouldn't ruin it for me.
