Two people were “found dead” at Rob Reiner’s house today. Their ages match Rob and his wife. The homicide and burglary units are investigating which makes it unlikely it was a murder suicide but instead both were murdered. The rumor is it was one of their sons.

It’s all confirmed. Their son Nick stabbed them both to death. Nick has a history of drug abuse going back to childhood. The speculation is that he relapsed after an extended period of sobriety and that somehow factors into the murder. Maybe a fight over money? Maybe drug induced psychosis? Something else?

TMZ and People both have articles. There are several journalists on site streaming on YouTube for the last couple hours, too. It was the SWAT team that arrested the son, you could hear it go down over the radios of a nearby cop on one of the streams.

I am getting jaded in my old age, because after the initial shock wore off I found myself wondering if Rob Reiner or Gene Hackman wins the "Most Fucked-up Death of a Celebrity and Their Spouse of 2025" title.
