as someone whose favorite disney movie is lilo and stitch and who has a small collection (mostly funkos), i agree. i don't need merch for every holiday of him. i don't need plush of him dressed as other disney characters. this just came up with the grinch, and unfortunately i think it really comes down to how oversaturated the market gets because companies don't know how to draw a line or say enough is enough

I agree, too! It's kind of weird, but I don't really remember Stitch as having always been this oversaturated. It seems like it just started within the last decade or so, unless I'm just crazy? I just don't remember seeing him on everything back 15 or 20 years ago. I like him and the movie so I don't really mind that much, but at the same time, I kind of feel like it cheapens the franchise when you go into a store and see your favorite character plastered all over a bunch of crappy quality merch.

It's because of the live action reboot.

same, i remember a few years ago thinking it was difficult to find cute stitch merch that wasn't plush or directed at little kids. now his face is everywhere. i expect it in stores like hot topic or box lunch, but every big box retailer is shoving his face down our throats and it's a bit much

Agreed, and it further bothers me that Lilo, whose name is also in the title, is missing from 99% of stuff, but that Angel turns up so often despite how content they otherwise are to ignore the TV series that I wish I could have on DVD. The no Lilo wouldn't hit as hard without all the Angel.

It's my favorite Disney movie but I have no want for any of this stuff. Used to be if I needed a new mug and there happened to be a Stitch one I would consider it. I'm sick of it now.

Right??? You RARELY see anything with Lilo on it. Almost never! But Stitch is EVERYWHERE.

The animal/alien characters always do better than human characters. Would you want a Mowgli or a Baloo? A Rapunzel or a Pascal toy?
