+1, he believes in what he says, but the Gerudo are doing fine without him. Except in Twilight Princess where there's very strong hints that they were all killed or expelled from Hyrule. But it is very interesting to see a Ganondorf who saw consequences and had to live with that for a very long time.

I also like that both WW Ganondorf and the King of Hyrule are equally invested in their ancient war, despite being in the post-apocalyptic remains of that kingdom. It takes to the very end of the game for the King of Hyrule to realise what he's doing (using children to attack Ganondorf) and instead wish for their future (whereupon Ganondorf attacks said children once more).

Yeah, I just really like a Ganondorf who is just on the cusp of self-awareness of what his actions entailed. Like the framing feels like he's undergoing a lot of intense sorrow. I think he also realizes that he is too far gone, so maybe part of him has to keep believing that what he is fighting is true, even if he ended up causing way more of a mess that could feasibly be fixed in that timeline. Ya know, as much as he is spouting delusional bullshit.
