For basically my entire life, Michael Jackson's inappropriate relationships with adolescent boys were an open secret that came up in some form or another every time his name got mentioned, and that definitely didn't stop when he died. Sure, you have the odd whackadoodle like the one rabid MJ stan in this thread who is so deep in denial that they moonlight as a crocodile, but they're the minority. But unless you believe in ghosts, no one's associating with or being friends with Michael Jackson anymore, so you can probably calm down a little.

I agree, but this comes off as pretty flippant and projecting an emotional response onto OP. Most secret posts aren't about FS as a whole, but wider fandom. Music fandoms in my experience are full of people who doubt allegations just because an artist is talented. Nothing wrong with venting about that, especially when MJ's music made a huge cultural impact.

I'm not in his fandom specifically, but in a fan that has a few overlapping fans. I avoid discussions about it, but I don't agree that he's innocent.

One of my main fandoms has a former "rival" fandom that has a personal with multiple abuse allegations against them. We're supposed to "be grown up" and approach the subject with "maturity" but being fans of both, but I can't. He's an awful person. His band mates are awful people for not just continuing to work with him, but by supporting his assertions that the allegations are false. I'll be honest, there are band members on "our" side that continue to work with him and I think they're pieces of shit as well.

At the end of the day, you only have what you believe and how you act and that's the only thing you can fully control.
