I liked Jonas and Vala (though I hated the romance with Daniel). I was meh on Cam, I didn't hate him. But he shouldn't have been team lead, that should have been Sam. And it made me annoyed every time he was on screen giving orders.

Oh, yeah I could totally see what you mean about Sam leading the team instead. What a wasted opportunity.

Not a fan of Vala, she was a well-written character but that character type just isn't my thing.
I think Cam was supposed to be kinda 'meh'. He's Generic Guy that your average audience member could easily latch on to for the ride. IIRC they kinda commented on this in one of the Wormhole X-Treme episodes.

It has been years since I watched, but did Sam ever say anything in canon about wanting to lead the team? For some reason I have a headcanon that she just didn't want it, that it would tie her down when she had other projects she wanted to focus on but I'm wondering if that was something my brain just came up with or if the show addressed it at all.
