I find it kind of interesting how people react to secrets saying they judge others for something, even if it's something super petty. It's invariably mostly assumptions that the OP of such secrets must be out there running wild in every fandom openly insulting and verbally assaulting others with their judgments.

IME the people who actually do run wild openly insulting and verbally assaulting others over an opinion never keep it a secret. Nor do they bother to hide behind anonymity. They're loud and proud of themselves and don't understand why someone would keep their opinion private.

The best secrets to me are the ones where I'm like "yeah, I get why this is a secret, OP."

Anonymous hate on the internet is very much a thing.

I agree! I mean, sometimes it's a secret for a reason.

I agree. I suspect a lot of people read controversial secrets and immediately associate it with people who are obnoxious and aggressive about stuff in their own fandom and react accordingly. And like you said, I doubt THOSE people are making secrets about it because why would they? They've already said it out loud.

Definitely. I figure if someone is making it a secret here, it's because they aren't sharing it with their fandom, and they're just letting it out anonymously to vent a little.

I've seen comments in FS where members state they submit secrets in which it's not that they can't say it in fandom but more they want more activity on FS. I leave a comment knowing it's a secret, but IMO that doesn't mean I have to hold the Secret OP's hand and make them feel not so bad for their takes. If I disagree, I will say I disagree.

TBH I don't read comments to some of my secrets because chances are someone's going to have an issue with it and argue their point against my secret. And sometimes I don't want to interact with or see that.
