[Holiday movie "Have We Met This Christmas?" starring Danica McKellar and Jesse Hutch]

I adore Christmas movies (not really a secret) and I adore a good amnesia trope (even less of a secret), but somehow I managed to miss in the previews that the MMC knows exactly who the FMC is the *entire time* and is just lying to her. "Because the doctor said no stress." That is the most bullshit excuse ever. *And* there's a subplot about him breaking up with her "for her own good" back in the day? Even worse.

I don't think I've ever gotten the ick faster with any movie (or book, or TV show) than I did with this. The increased focus on the religious aspect of the holiday (as opposed to the social aspect, which is most of the rest of the genre) just cemented it. Ugh.

Secret because who am I really going to complain to, anyway.

Well it is a Great American Family movie. GFAM movies are for people who think Hallmark has gotten too non-white and too gay.

I actually don't hate that premise but I also have very specific dub-con kinks.

I guess I'm surprised that you're surprised that a shitty TV romance movie has shitty TV romance movie tropes.

That aired on a shitty conservative cable network.

wait, Danica McKellar as in "childhood love interest in 80s dramedy Danica?" Oh god. She's easily my age, she's like 50 wtf.
