I'm pretty neutral towards Aragorn specifically but agree strongly with the second part. There's some gender roles bullshit going on with the "you're allowed to be into fem men if you're a CHILD but as an ADULT you have to be gender conforming and attracted to the same" thing. Masc guys can be nice to look at sometimes but I'm not going to stop preferring men who are PRETTY.

If I remember, the meme suggests that kids crush on Legolas, young adults crush on Aragorn, but those over 30/approaching middle age prefer Sam.

Anyway, the younger generation tends to crush on pretty boys, because they often prioritize looks over character. (And I know someone is going to go "not me! I'm special! I've wanted to fuck Pippin from the very beginning so there!" and good for you, but obviously I'm not talking about the exceptions here.) That doesn't mean you can't crush on whoever you crush on, but kids don't tend to think about the long term, or whether or not there's anything there once you remove someone's good looks.

And of course, we can say this is fiction and not real life and who gives a fuck. I'm just saying there's a reason for that meme. As someone whose crushes still include the occasional pretty boy, I think it's pretty funny.

ngl this makes me laugh because my sister and I used to have intense arguments when we were teens because she was all about the elves and I was all about the dwarves lol lol lol
