I wish Carrie had lived long enough to be in TROS. But Leia wasn't trained to use the Force herself. How could she train Rey?

Oh, 100%. And a poor judge of character. And he was one of my faves back in the day.

Poke the mod(s) into keeping discussion relevant. Failing that, ignoring the blather about the baby and only discussing the fandom will effectively shut her behavior down.

I'm honestly not sure I watched enough new movies to make this a full list.

Least favorite: War of the Worlds, Section 31, Fantasic 4

Hahaha I love that you hated Alien vs Predator but committed to watching Alien vs Predator 2 just because you were watching every Alien movie

I don’t think I’ve seen five movies in 2025. I loved Weapons, though. Deserving of every bit of the hype!

Luke could have trained her after ROTJ. Also, it is clear that some of it is very instinctive, so she could have just picked it up.

I was determined to rate all the Predators by how hot they were. 😭

Weapons is sooooo good.

I have to be in the right state of mind to enjoy a slow movie. When I'm in the proper mood, I love them. But I have to really be in the mood to slow down and let the story and visuals unfold.

Admittedly I only made it about half way through, I couldn't keep watching. It was bad.

I loved Bela, but yeah, her story was done. And I really liked that someone who was a sexual abuse survivor and frankly had a very good reason for her demonic deal was also an asshole and a liar and all-around complicated character.

OH man, agreed. Sure he's cute, and I like fluffy but wild animals too. But I wouldn't try to make one of them a pet.

I may be wrong, but I thought it was confirmed she trained with Luke? Just didn't finish her training to go back to the rebellion.

I've tried this, OP, but the problem is, animme hair is not drawn to be 'hair' like a stylist can sculpt. You'll never have the kind of body required for an anime bob, you'll just look like ass. My stylist did the best they could with layering and texturing but in the end, 2D stylization cannot always translate to 3D physicality. You can ask for more texture and choppier layers, and see if that language at least gets you on the same page with the person who knows how hair do.

Best: Hunt for the Wilderpeople, John Wick, Spotlight, Ad Astra, Venom: The Last Dance

Worst: Deadpool and Wolverine, John Wick 3, Venom: Let there Be Carnage

And everyone wanting to make the main girl the problem, when like... maybe she was miscast but she's at least a capable actress and singer when given good material and direction! She's the LEAST of this movie's problems, but so many reviews make it seem like it's all squarely on her shoulders, and not the fact that she's got at least one wooden and talentless costar and nearly everything else she's acting against is CGI, and the production design is ass to boot! I won't defend the movie, which was a pointless mess that didn't know what it wanted to be, but I will defend her.

If you saw a fanfic on AO3 where the author note consists of the author whining about how no one likes them and that drama follows them wherever they go, would you skip anything they write or would you just ignore it and read the story anyway?

(I would love to post the example I saw recently, but the author might post here so I won't. All I can say is that it's insane)

Like... Crowley I could have done without some of his storylines, but at least he could be entertaining and I like the actor and have liked him in other things. Bela just bothered me. Even as a one-time villain I didn't enjoy spending time with her! There are other characters that I thought overstayed their welcome, including at least one fandom favorite, but Bela I just... I really hated having to put up with her so much that I couldn't even enjoy the parts of her story that might have been interesting. And I think there are things that they could have done with her that might have been interesting, but those are things I can't imagine a cw show ever going into.

Yesssss I loved weapons.

It depends a LOT on the fic. If it's for a fandom/pairing that gets very little content, or a really niche AU or kink that I've been looking for, then I can skip over an author's note and I doubt I'd remember a whiny author's note enough to like... remember who wrote it in a larger fandom. But if it's something where like... I can read a thousand other fics, then I might just nope out and do so.

I agree. I don't hold it against the movie at all, but I really wish she had been in it. :(

Ohhhh man, I get you. I never saw this movie, so I don't have any thoughts about this specific example, but sometimes I'll see people just really taking a HUGE shit on something that is maybe kind of bad, but not THAT bad, and it's irritating because I feel like defending it, and I don't want to defend it because it's kind of bad, but not just rock bottom shit tier bad. People dog pile on something that is not THAT terrible.

You're not wrong! I like him and think he's a good character, but he is definitely a grade A dingdong.

I would only read it so I could laugh at the inevitable bad writing the fic would contain.
