I hate this book for making me appreciate The Dresden Files and Neverwhere more. While I didn't terribly like those, I have to admit they clearly felt better written, like they were showing you corners of a fully developed world, and a main character who had some actual flaws. Admittedly, I found the short stories to be a little better executed.

Yeah, I get that. I read a few Nightside books and thought they were okay, but not entertaining enough to complete the series. The Dresden Files series has more of a sense of humor, and frankly, I think that's needed with urban fantasy as a genre.
