I still prefer Kataang to Zutara. Not because I'm actually invested in the ship, but because I've always found Zutara to be boring (oh wow fire/water and angst? Groundbreaking) and its shippers to be obnoxious (this includes a large chunk of my friends, oops).

I hate Zutara. I don't intensely ship Aang and Katara, but I'm okay with the idea of them drifting apart for a while and then getting back together as adults.

I'd heard about Zutara before I watched the show, and all the claims that 'it made more sense' and that the ship was robbed and what have you. Only to watch the show and not really understand where those claims were coming from, like I could sort of get it a bit after Katara forgives Zukko, but prior to that she hates him with such fury that any kind of romance would have been a monumental amount of work to do. Even Aang doesn't hate Zukko as much and he was Zukko's target for 80% of the show.

Zutara doesn't work for me because I can only see it as selfshipping by using Katara as a proxy. Even if she's written IC. Sorry, that's not Katara, that's you giving yourself Katara's name and personality to ship yourself with Zuko. Which is fine, but it doesn't interest me.

Zutara isn't the only ship I get that vibe from, but it's a big one.

I was so excited to watch The End of an Era documentary, but I'll be honest, I was a little disappointed. It felt kind of disjoined overall. I feel bad and don't want to complain because I am thrilled that we got anything at all and I LOVED seeing behind the scenes, I just wish that it had had a little more of a cohesive narrative. I felt like the timeline skipped all over the place. It felt less like a documentary, and more like a bunch of behind-the-scenes glimpses. Which again, it was great! I loved it! I was just hoping for more, I guess.

I still think that versions of time travel that don't allow for much or any change to the past are more interesting to explore. When characters can go back. But everything they have done has already been done before and there is no way to change the outcome. Watching characters wrestle and deal with that can be really interesting.

I hate this book for making me appreciate The Dresden Files and Neverwhere more. While I didn't terribly like those, I have to admit they clearly felt better written, like they were showing you corners of a fully developed world, and a main character who had some actual flaws. Admittedly, I found the short stories to be a little better executed.

idk about you but for me it's the way everyone (not just online but I guess my irl spaces are still fandom-based so eh) talks shit about Avatar in between movies, and yet a new one comes out and they line up with their wallets open. otoh even opening in December with holiday movie audiences, it dropped from 300m opening to 80m the second week, which is a major shift in interest. I know there's tons of people not in fandom spaces who unironically like these movies, but there's a disconnect when you peep out from "no one I know has even seen an Avatar movie" land and find out oof, lots of people did?

Cat Advice (Kind of Gross)

Fellow cat owners, can someone offer some advice?

My little calico has been having some hygeniene issues lately. She keeps getting little "dingleberries"/remnants on the fur around her hindquarters. I clean her litter box daily, and she's on wet food and has plenty of water, so I'm not sure what's causing this or how to solve for it. I take a baby wipe to try and clean her up and boy does she howl, poor embarrassed thing. Any ideas?
