Do you have any? Counting any type that costs money, like shows, books, news, games, patreon, twitch subs

How many do you have going?

Does AILA count? That's the immigration lawyer organization that has books, training, resources, and a lot of great things.

We have a family Netflix subscription, Disney plus as well as a couple others, but honestly my mother is the one who watches tv most of the time. Disney is really the only one I watch much.

We have a subscription for my kitty's prescription food.

I have a subscription to Amazon prime.

Just spotify (family plan).

Two Patreon ($10 total monthly), Paramount+ ($120 annually), Vortex premium ($93ish annually), and farm fresh egg delivery (a dozen delivered weekly but billed $20 a month).

I just canceled Disney+ and Netflix within the last hour. Disney was due for renewal next week and costs more than everything we kept active combined.

That is an amazing price for the egg delivery!

Right?! I was shocked to be honest. We only just signed up but already plan to tip him handsomely.

Prime and Crunchyroll.

I also have Disney+, Netflix, and Apple TV, but they're free with my current internet package (which was 18 dollars cheaper than my previous internet package) so I don't actually count those because I'd be paying for internet anyway.

None. We cancelled our amazon prime in protest.

Spotify. I just signed up this past year and am kind of annoyed I did but I use it near daily for work.

I signed up for Prime just for December and then cancelled. Needed that sweet sweet holiday shipping.

Nothing else.

Technically none, but I got some kind of pass to PBS when I donated to them.

I guess you can count the local library as well. Everything is too expensive and corporations are getting too corrupt.

Nope. My work provides Paramount Plus for free, but I don't count that.
I used to subscribe to Patreons ~4 years ago, but had to cancel because my money was tight then. I'd like to go back, but I prefer commissioning/tipping/buying merch at cons when I have money aside. Also the one Youtuber I subscribed to turned out to be a shitheel, so I have to vet more next time...

Apple music and a $2/mo language app.

Re: Subscriptions

(Anonymous) 2026-01-03 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Way, way, way too many. I may "win" this one, or at least come close.

Amazon Prime, yearly
World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV
Three people on Twitch, although I have cancelled one and will not renew it when it ends. I also use a free Amazon Prime sub on another person but that's included with the Amazon Prime fee so it's not any extra money
One Patreon page (Kitten Academy, I'll never cancel it)
Spotify Premium, but I was able to get the $100 yearly card from Best Buy so it comes out a little cheaper
Discord Nitro
iCloud and Google storage, the cheapest plans for each
Nintendo Switch online
Apple app store: Finch (self-care app) and Parcel (package tracking app)
Google play store: Duolingo

Yes, this adds up to way too much money

None yet, but that may change after I assess finances.

Spotify and Crunchyroll.

I share Netflix with my mom, but she wanted to cancel it. I have a one-year payment for Disney+ that will expire this month or the next. I'm on the fence whether I renew it or not.

I also have a subscription that will start soon for Skybound's Energon comics, I was following it online, but it's finally going to be sold here, and I wanted to have then physically.
