To be fair, it's a bit difficult to read someone describe a situation where their partner is blatantly disrespecting them to a relationship-damaging level and go "I hear long walks in the woods are super nice!"

It's like having someone post and say, "I was cooking dinner and ended up chopping off the tip of my thumb. Please, no opinions about first aid or going to the ER. Does anyone have any good tips on making a delicious Beef Bourguignon?"

Like... okay, sure, if you want. But, um...

Nah, bad analogy. The original action has nothing to do with the audience reaction, which is what is exactly the same in this situation which is what makes it funny i.e. partner doesn't listen to OP because they think they know better than OP, audience doesn't listen to OP because they think they know better than OP.

If you can come up with a better analogy where the people responding are doing exactly what the original problem was, I'll consider it though.
