You're confusing being easygoing and dependable with being a doormat. Being easygoing and dependable doesn't mean never saying no, it means following through on your commitments when you DO say yes. I'm considered "easygoing and dependable" and I say no to things all the time! What makes me dependable is that if I say I'll pick up a shift on Wednesday or I'm down to see a movie on Friday, I'll be there just like I said I would be. What makes me easygoing is that people can trust that I'll say no to things if I don't actually want to do them and they don't need to second-guess whether my "yes" is a genuine yes or an "I'm being pushed into this" yes.
