I am too old to have gotten into Five Nights at Freddy's, but I actually feel really validated by the idea of animatronics being creepy. I didn't have a problem with them the first few times I encountered them as a child, but one time I went on a school trip to Chuck-E-Cheese and got sat at a table RIGHT BY some of them. And they were so fucking creepy! The way the eyes rolled back and forth, the noises of the machinery working, the robotic movements. I have never had a problem with clowns, but ever since that day, I have been creeped out by animatronics. My friends who were sitting at the same table thought I was bonkers for having a problem, so 8-year-old me feels justified now to know that I'm not the only one!

my son is OBSESSED with animatronics. we drove eight hours round trip once to take him to one of the last chuck e cheese locations in the country with animatronics. he loved it, but they were fucking horrifying, especially being as old and worn out as they are
