If your trauma is that you didn't get as many likes on your kinktober fic as another author, I would argue that your drowning was less tragic and less validated than any other.

I agree but doubt that’s really what happened. A story like that is always in the secret, not added by the OP in the comments after it’s posted.

Nah. I have submitted secret before and only afterwards noticed how there was missing information that I had to add in the comments (but as a lot of people here are as illiterate as I am negligent, it didn't matter much in the end).

On the one hand, you’re not wrong. On the other, the secret is very Oppression Olympics and it’s just as likely that OP didn’t pick up on that until after they submitted it and came up with a bullshit story. And that’s far more likely because if the story were true and it prompted the secret, the secret would be about how the fan is reacting to another author getting more attention and wouldn’t be focused on Kinktober. Because it wasn’t Kinktober that traumatized her as the secret claims, it was not getting the most attention that traumatized her.

I mean yes, obviously the "trauma" of her fic not getting likes is ridiculous. I think it is the "It makes me wish that I could get her in contact with a war vet or a SA survivor who can tell her what REAL trauma is" that this is referring to. The OP is trying to dictate what "REAL trauma" is.

Providing classic examples of trauma as contrast to something that is clearly not traumatic does not indicate that the two situations provided are the only examples of trauma.

ayrt didn't say those two were the only examples of trauma though. OP could've listed a dozen other traumatic events, and the issue would still be with them dictating what real trauma is.
