Well, like others have said, this doesn't appear to be about Taylor herself.

But in general, when someone gets as famous as they do, more folks are going to want to personally gain from that. Any story even slightly related to the celeb will get promoted, tabloids and news media (which, let's face it, these days isn't much different from tabloids... except tabloids are honest about being trash) will push it anywhere for folks to read. And when it comes time for the celeb's downfall, lather, rinse, repeat. Gotta get that sweet dough.
