This has nothing to do with who he's dating.

He's a 20-something privileged white guy who's (quite bafflingly) gotten an extraordinary number of accolades for some solidly mid acting. For years, people have been acting like he's some kind of rising star when he's merely Shia LaBeouf 2.0.

We might be witnessing his fall from the weird pedestal he never earned.

There's a reason why the saying "God, give me the confidence of a mediocre white man" exists.

I’ve always hated that saying. You look at the men like Adam Ellis who actually listened to and internalized that shit, and it didn’t make them better people, it wrecked their confidence because they kept thinking they were “mediocre.”
