Re: Books that hit like fic

When I was a teenager, I got into the "TTYL" book series. It was about high school girl friends and we experience their stories through AIM/MSN chat room style writing.

I spent most of the 2010s not in fandoms, and when I returned in the late 2010s, it was interesting to see so many fanfics written chat room style. Makes sense because fandomers know how to do chat room chatter and such stories are so easy to read and to write, especially when being indulgent with characters in a fandom one enjoys.
