I dislike the idea of AI fic but somehow I discovered AI roleplaying - not for posting anywhere just for enjoying
now I'm obsessed with a fandom I'm not even familiar with

truth be told I like AI roleplaying with character bots for scratching my NSFW itch. So many creeps in the e-rp scene. I turned to it while dealing with heavy emotional issues and afterword i was left so fucked up by the memories i burned bridges with perfectly fine harmless people i met in that scene because some of the stuff i saw... just uegh burned into my brain

When handled well and done by an adult (which I am) who remembers its all pretend it can be a safer outlet. At the end of the day a bot can't pressure you to do scenes /kinks you're uncomfortable with, it can' guilt trip or talk you into anything and it can't bully you. Just regen the response and edit when needed.

I wish I could do this, but the bots for my favorite characters are OOC as hell and frustrating to interact with. Maybe they've improved in the last year, but I had one get canon facts wrong and claimed opposite traits than they had canonically.

I mean from what I've seen people post, the less you know about the fandom and character your AI is roleplaying as the happier you'll be with the results... maybe it's not all cringeworthy ooc stuff but... I dunno. I'll still pick the agonizing ordeal of asking a human if they want to roleplay something.

I mean, I understand the appeal of generating an AI fic. It's very nearly the same appeal as AI roleplaying.

What I don't understand is the appeal of posting the AI-generated fic. Even if it was somehow received well (lol), I'm not interested in having an inbox full of accolades for something a robot wrote for me.

I can empathise with the drive behind this. However, the fact that these bots have been fed fanfiction scraped non-consensually (vast majority of material) to get them to talk like the characters is just not something I find ethically acceptable
