DA Have you ever met a boring person? Someone who is just a drag to be around, someone who is selfish in conversation or poorly spoken or shallow in their thinking so you just don't get any joy from being around them? Who will respond poorly if you share anything *actually* going on in your life so you have to stick to what they want to talk and talk and talk about?

As for "boring advice," have you ever been around someone who tells you how you'll need to change everything about yourself to "catch a man" or else you'll "die alone"? How all kids these days need a good thrashing to learn them some manners? How you should really walk into that office and introduce yourself to the CEO to get a job? How all these "gluten free" folks are just faking it for attention and every recipe needs 3x butter and salt than you'd prefer. Or gives you step by step instructions on how to fix a model of radio that hasn't been in production for 20 years when you share that your ipod is broken?

Some people aren't fun to be around. If you think acknowledging this reality is a moral failing you might not be fun to be around.

nayrt - Exactly. Which is pretty good evidence that the person above is trolling, even though they claimed they weren't. Bad faith arguments = trolling.

Bad faith arguments can also mean unsound opinions and immaturity. It's hard to tell some times.

Hi OP. You need to look up what boring means in a dictionary. Your first example is self absorbed or geeky. And exactly like some offline fandom meetups go. Being bad at conversation is not boring.

Your 2nd example also doesn't have anything to do with boredome. Are you bored by toxic critisism? Weird.

If you find people boring you are the one who is not interested in others.
