I unironically wish I could get into Gacha.

The fandoms for ZZZ and Uma Musume look so fun, and the characters so pretty and funny, I feel like I'm someone invited to a group I know nothing about whenever I see fanart and fanfic of characters I like from those canons.

Stupidly, it's not even about a risk of gacha/gambling addiction. It's because I end up getting confused by the game mechanics, the slow tutorials, the different types of currencies, and looooooong dialogue trees, that I end up turned off.

I can't speak for WuWa since I've never played it, but Umamusume is pretty much just a raising sim, and that's one of those things where you either really enjoy it or you don't.

Tbh I didn't expect to love Uma but it's a lot of fun. Nice Nature and Rice Shower are my favs lol.

Uma has an anime that's on crunchyroll, if you wanted to get into the fandom that way!

I'm immune to microtransactions, I've played Fire Emblem Heroes on-and-off since launch and haven't spent a dime on it. But I can't get into the gacha format because I hate playing games on my phone. Last time I got into a different mobage (Hosamo) there was a huge backlog of content I couldn't catch up with, which also deterred me...

I think you're in luck, OP, because ZZZ is pretty simple by gacha standarts, I think, and has great writing/story, comparably. imo it's the easiest one to get into for the characters. it has its share of "what is all that even for???" but it's easy to ignore it and only do story, if you wanna.

I wish some shows/movies would bring back the old sitcom convention of having a married couple sleep in separate beds. Better yet, separate rooms. I don't understand why even well-off couples with extra space in their houses are supposed to sleep in the same bed every night. Bed sharing is one reason I don't want to get married.

My wife and I sleep in separate beds; thankfully we have the room to do so. She likes to sleep on concrete and I'm the princess and the pea.

i think it's more common than people think it is to not share the same bed when you're in a long term relationship/married. so many people have conflicting work/sleep schedules, someone is a snorer, a bed hog, etc. and it's just so nice to have your own space when it comes to something as important as sleep

There’s no reason to get married if you don’t want to but wishing to sleep in separate beds or even rooms is not a barrier to marriage. Like anything else when it comes to relationships, you just have to find someone who feels the same way. I’ve been married almost 20 years and we haven’t shared a bed since our first year of marriage. We only ever did because we were trying to make ourselves normal and decided pretty quick that we don’t want to be normal.

I want old timey separate bedrooms with a small connecting sitting room! Or if you want to modernize it, connecting master bath. On second thought, you know what? separate bathrooms, too. That way I have no reason to care about however he leaves his bathroom. (can you tell not wanting to share space is also the reason I don't want to get married?)

My parents haven't slept in the same room in like 30+ years for the extremely simple reason that one of them snores and other one grinds their teeth lol

My wife and I each have our own rooms, and we sleep in them. It's served us well for almost ten years, absolutely no reason that you have to share a bed or room if you get married haha

This scene was impressive from a technical viewpoint, kudos to the camera crew and all the extras who made it, and made it look like clockwork.But it made me think about how if I were Carol, I'd rule this planet and its worker bees like a spoiled dictator.

Everyone has to do what I say to make me happy, with very few limitations? Holy shit I'm going to ask for so much stuff.

Series 11 is one of the best when it comes to friendly competition, and I love it. So often you get the impression that the chefs don't know each other well, or they're too competitive in an annoyingly macho way. I like seeing chefs who are secure enough to sincerely compliment their opponents and cheer them on. Refusing to admit that someone made a kickass beef loin (or whatever) just seems petty and juvenile.

Tommy Banks and Mini Patel are just an example, but I particularly loved how open and warm Mini was when it came to raving about Tommy's dishes. <3

I recently started writing for a small, dead fandom.

Most older fic has more hits/kudos than all of my new fic combined. This makes sense and doesn't bother me at all.

The secret?

I'm terrified that someone will start writing again, that their fic will get the same attention as before, and that the self-consciousness will make me stop wanting to write.

It's fine getting no attention when you're all alone, but what happens when you're not?
