I feel ya OP. Sometimes socializing is hard and keeping a relationship alive is a burden. Good on you for putting in the work! But also, is there anyway you could lessen your frustration? Or even your share of the work? Like, instead of going over for dinner you have a phone call while you paint your nails and let yourself zone out a bit?

I know you're venting and not asking for advice but that helped me with my mom. Being able to hang up really helped. You're not alone!

Not at all, I appreciate you, nonny! I fiddle on my phone a lot, I excuse myself, get up and move to another room. But it's not a big house and there aren't many places to escape to. If the weather isn't extreme I'll go for a walk because I know they won't want to follow me. It helps.
