(Anonymous) 2026-01-24 05:05 am (UTC)(link)I agree that his initial campaign was likely one of fear, with people stepping in line to preserve themselves. We see some of that in the final book. Which is kinda the point. Toxic regimes have a handful of powerful or manipulated loyalists and then masses trying to survive within that system.
Unpopular opinion but I was bummed that FB flopped because I find Grindelwald's character and campaign more nuanced and historically relevant. I always wondered if Grindelwald was an orphan, too. Anyway we'll never know because of bad screenwriting, transphobia, and Johnny Depp.
