I haven't watched Eurovision since the UK lost with their best song in decades. Because of pity votes for Ukraine who couldn't host and should've had a participation trophy instead of being allowed to win. And now people are wound up about conflict and picking sides? I might give it a watch to be contrary.

Oh man, only four countries? So much for the US being the only country evil enough to be friendly to Israel unlike your perfect country which would never, huh, European keyboard warriors?

not op

A lot more are likely to pull out when time for their usual shows to pick a song take place. I know Portugal is still having their contest even though like 80% of the entries said they wouldn't go if they won.
This is still early in the eurovision season, I'd be surprised if more didn't pull out. Plenty of countries had said they weren't planning on going, but haven't made it official yet.

I'm Swedish, and our participating broadcaster SVT is, at least on paper, neutral and not allowed to take sides. If Russia had been allowed to participate in 2022, we wouldn't have withdrawn, but released some statement that war is sad, but Eurovision is about coming together bla bla. Plus, the Melfest-industrial complex is too important to abandon.

Dude, how can you still be in denial? Ukraine had a legit amazing song. UK hasn't been respected for years, having some popular online guy make a half decent song wasn't going to earn them a win. Ukraine actually deserved it.

UK being salty for half decent song is so funny to me. Yeah, it was better than most of their entries but it wasn't THAT good.
Yes, I do think a lot of Ukraine's points were pity points or suck it Russia points. But this song was actually good and unique for Esc.

Also countries pull out not because of Israel's war politics, but mostly because they absolutely poison the votes.
