I'll never forget when many years ago I was on this Jim Steinman fan forum and the topic of MIchael Jackson came up. I made the mistake of mentioning that I was unsure if MJ was guilty or not and pointed out tthat the allegations could very well have been the result of an extortion plot (at the time I was unsure if MJ was a pedo that touched kids or an asexual manchild reliving a lost childhood) . This dude(nicknamed pudding) just went off on me and accused me of "condoning child molestation" (looking back this was projection) , even though I never defended MJ's alleged sexual touching of minors and called me a cunt and called MJ a pedophile. He asked me if i had kids and he claimed to have a 4 year old daughter and that he would kill anyone who came near her and that he supported the death penalty for rapists/child molestors and that MJ deserved to die.

But this same dude (he was a huge tanz der vampire fan) in another thread said that Roman Polanski should have been freed along time ago because the 13 year old girl he raped "asked for it" and wasn't a child (she was apparently pubescent thus not pedophilia. Even though Mj's alleged victims were around the same age) and that the girl wasn't a virgin prior to the rape (making her a slut in his eyes).

SO much for hating molestors eh? Everyone hates them until someone they like turns out to be one. Then it's all "She came on to the adult" and "13 is not a child" and "old enough to bleed , old enough to breed" , and "my grandma had kids at 13 so it's okay and natural for adults to go after minors"

I'm always... suspicious of anyone who puts on a big show about beating the shit out of someone because they're just *such* a manly protector. And to be fair, those are valid feelings but when I see people who are basically incapable of regulating their emotions like an adult, using an alleged or *hypothetical* bad situation to justify them being an asshole to someone else, they usually turn out just as non-serious a piece of shit as that guy you were talking to.

Yeeeeeeeep. I've noticed this trend as well. There's a point when it gets TOO over the top and it's clear they're overcompensating for something.

Any discussion that frames the Polanski rape as not really rape is just awful. There are at least three separate ways that it's rape and he pled guilty to 'unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor'. Like, when does it finally actually count?

When he stops being good at making movies I suspect. They've decided that his "art" is so important that any awful actions can be justified.

When the victims is someone that the person in question decides is worthy. Which might be one 13-year-old girl and not another one. Or a white boy and not a black boy. Or a woman who fought back and died, not one who survived by complying. Or, most of the time, when the rapist is someone that the person complaining is a fan of.
