You’re going to get so much hate when this goes up but I agree. It isn’t even like they’re casting better actors, they’re just making it a point to not cast attractive ones.

I feel that, given how fragile the male ego has been last couple of decades, with all the incel "if I'm slightly weird and spotty looking I might as well kill myself and fifty others in a mass shooting" that maybe the poor little mens need to see some ugly rep. They are just not as mentally robust as women, and need more reassurance over their looks.

I actually believe we don't have enough ugly people on modern screens. Bit characters and even background characters are presented as good looking. No asymmetrical faces allowed, not even visible scars or non-straight ultra white teeth are allowed. Even the bad guys aren't allowed to be ugly.

What are you watching? Asymmetrical faces are very common in shows now.
