I’m just frustrated because FS has always had a higher concentration of intelligent people. It’s honestly amazing to me that people can’t grasp the concept of how the protest works and are even calling it a success or a partial success. That’s like saying because you put a sock on you’re dressed for extreme cold weather. And the reason it matters is because actual protests have lower turnout today due to weather, people making up for all the stuff they didn’t do yesterday, and protest fatigue. There was a chance to conduct a nationwide, coordinated protest and instead about 3000 people did this stupid shit instead.

No, I’m not. I was out there today same as every weekend, which was a happy surprise because the city hasn’t plowed our road since 2022 and I didn’t expect them to today.

I can’t tell if you think I’m saying protests are bad or if I was advocating for people not to take part in the national blackout protest yesterday. Neither is accurate. It could not succeed at such short notice. And that type of protest is all or nothing; without everyone participating, it doesn’t succeed. Yes there were demonstrations. Same as every day. Yes a few districts cancelled classes. That actually detracts from the success. I don’t know if you lack reading comprehension or intelligence but either way the end result is the same: you don’t understand what the protest was and therefore don’t understand how it failed and how that failure undermines what everyone else is doing that has brought positive attention to the cause. I’m hopeful that in a few days or a week yesterday’s stupidity will be forgotten by the magats and the actual protests that work will continue.
