Oh word OP.

I remember a several years back when I first got into Kdramas I thought to dip into the fandom to see a general consensus and to see other people's thoughts, queue seeing nothing but complaints about the female lead being 'mean' or 'rude' towards the male lead, or her being boring or just irritating in general, often while the male lead is also no bag of delights himself yet his behaviour was being justified or excused or even just out right ignored as bad because he was hot.

Really put me off engaging with those fandoms and for a long time now I've watched the shows by myself and don't go seek out fan opinion. I at most delve into the tumblr tags for gifsets but leave it at that because I know most of the posts are going to be ranting at how 'bad' the female lead is.

There are a few exceptions with these fandoms but they have been very rare.
