I kind of assumed they were talking about Heated Rivalry because I've seen complaints about that pretty recently. But I don't think either of the two main leads are ugly. But the same kind of thing came up with Jeremy Allen White (and there was that whole rat boy summer thing that I found very strange). But I can't think of very many actors that I would call ugly unless they were specifically styled to look that way as a character. There are plenty that are not to my taste, sure, but not ugly.
