Hello there!

We're having an employee baking competition at work and I'd really love to blow the competition away.

Anyone care to share some tried and true favorite recipes fot baked goods?

Thank you and have a good night!

How much baking experience do you have?

Delicious chocolate zucchini bread:

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies: (add dry to wet, mine were a little dry last time so stop if the dough gets past that rubber band look)

Anzac Biscuits: (were like a religious experience the first time I tried them, but not as good the next. Bake in two batches if you want, low end baking time for softer more chewy cookies, and higher baking for a more firm cookie) -Egg Free!

Any particular type of baked good? Bread? Cookies? Cake?

If you want a go at a cake, I do a modified version of this recipe that comes out wonderfully well:

Originally from the Moosewood Book of Desserts, I find that substituting Earl Grey tea for the coffee is really delicious. If you don't do it as a bundt cake, I recommend cream cheese frosting with a little orange extract.

Toll House chocolate chip cookies but add 1/4 cup more flour than the recipe calls for. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper or they’ll just burn. You’ll need to bake them a bit longer, usually around 12 minutes but it varies so keep a close eye starting at the 10 minute mark. Once you know the timing for your oven you can just put them in and wait for the timer. My grandmother won ribbons at the state fair for like fifty years in a row with that recipe.

Ghirardelli Brownie Mix. Not even kidding, they always come out top on blind taste tests:

https://www.food.com/recipe/ghirardelli-award-winning-brownies-98330 can always use this or a similar recipe to add in stuff like nuts or whatever so it's not literally just the box mix and nothing else, but imo this is the best effort:result ratio

I have Celiac, so I use the King Arthur gf mix, and the KA one is my HOLY GRAIL brownie. Those brownies are gone in 5 minutes if I take them to a party.
