Because she leverages her cultural impact, as part of her weaponry against trans people. She has literally said that. She is using fandom participation to try and kill trans people. Reading HP doesn't make anyone an accessory to murder. Nor does ever having enjoyed it.
You're the only one giving her power by escalating things to the point of ridiculousness. I'm sure she's said a lot of fucking things, she's a horrible person, but that doesn't make them true. Throwing a fit and making demented leaps of logic to insult people and make choices for them generally doesn't work to change their minds either.

Look, I do think showing publicly that you still enjoy Harry Potter does suggest you support her. I took wizard rock of the music I play in my car for that reason. But reading in the privacy of your home does not do that. Reading at home doesn't hurt anyone.

Like, re-reading the books you already own and not talking about them *doesn't* give her any clout in addition to not giving her any money, and just because I personally find no joy in doing so as an adult doesn't mean no one can. But making fan works and quizzes about which marauder you are is keeping it out there in the public eye where people who don't know what a rotten person she is are going to say 'oh, okay, people still like this, there's still a big online fandom to participate in for this thing, and oh look, a new show, a new audiobook, a new product to buy!'

And then she's going to use that to get trans people pushed out of society, and all I hear is that millions of people care more about a mid-tier kids' book series than they do about people's actual lives.
