Not really, if OP is feeling like they're "not allowed" to enjoy something because of internet comments they don't have to read and internet people they don't have to be around... they can simply depart those places instead of acting like they're oppressed and downtrodden.

It's really easy

It's not about being "not allowed." OP needs their experience to be validated by strangers, and not just strangers who are also swifties. All strangers must support and nurture OP's obsession with watching every music video for Opalite.

I'm sure there are plenty of places on the internet that are made of only Swift fans. OP should find those places. I don't particularly care about Taylor Swift otherwise, you know more about her than I do.

they flood spaces where people are talking about the music video. and i also find these types of comments to be very performative. i want to know how many of the pEoPlE aRe dYiNg KiM comments are from people who aren't indulging in any frivolous entertainment right now. and i mean none at all ever. if you listen to music or watch neflix or play games on your phone but want to shit on someone for enjoying a music video, you are a hypocrite. i don't believe that a single person who has the time, energy, and inclination to berate people on reddit for enjoying a music video has totally cut all fun out of their life.

There is also the other extreme, where fans use "people are DYING" as a defense of their enjoyment of things that others accuse them of being cringe or problematic for. "Listen we live in a hyperpostcapitalist cisheteropatriarcal hellscape with multiple genocides occurring as we speak and we're all going to die of climate change in the next five years so please forgive us if we just want to escape with our happy fun TV and music for a little while." I would actually rather not be reminded of the state of the world through hyperbole to hear you justify why it's your moral right to listen to Taylor Swift or whoever, just shut up and like the things you like.

If these conversations are happening in general 'pop music' spaces then differences of opinion are the standard and should be expected.

If these rogue haters are invading Swifties-only discords and the mods don't do anything, seems like a mod problem
