Thank you. I know that dementia is a possibility and already suspect him of trying to mask it. I try to have some empathy for what must be a scary loss of control, but it's hard to bear the spiteful remarks and attempts at manipulation. He has a will and my brother has medical power of attorney because of a health emergency he had last year, but the financial POA will be much harder. Even before he started displaying the mean streak, he wasn't the kind of man who trusted his kids to be competent adults.
