I remember when I mentioned the intense rage to my OBGYN, like genuinely troubled by this unusual-for-me symptom, and she looked at me like I was a monster for daring to admit to having feelings of rage whatsoever.

That was 4 years ago, and I haven't been to an OBGYN since. Of course, having no health insurance is a deterrent as well.

That obgyn sucks. I'm sorry. There are good ones out there, but it is unfortunately sometimes hard to find them.

And while i haven't had intense rage yet, I have been super irritable in ways I've never been before. And having to make effort sometimes to not snap when before even if I was internally irritable, I was always good at burying it and controlling myself.

Thanks. I'll have to find one soon because I'm nearing the end. Which means v-word* dessication. Apparently that's when the recurrent and untreatable UTIs begin, preventable only with v-word topical hormones. Which many OBGYNs refuse to prescribe. Good times.

Fortunately, I expect we'll see some sudden and remarkable improvements in peri/menopause treatment as millennials AFAB enter this hellscape.

I'm fairly sure the person ~censoring~ the word vagina is someone from that thread who STILL doesn't understand that no, people are not ~triggered~ by vaginas, they just don't want them untagged in their gay porn.

I refuse to censor the word "vagina". I am tired of cis women and girls being shamed for their bodies. "Vagina" is not a dirty word, and if it somehow triggers you, that's not a problem for the rest of the world to deal with, that's a problem for YOU to deal with. Violence, death, etc are common triggers that it makes sense to warn for. But a body part that 50% of the world has is NOT deserving of a fucking trigger warning in everyday conversation.

(NOT referring to fandom tagging here btw. ONLY referring to the comment in this thread about "squicks".)

And ALSO, this comment was posted in a thread talking about menopause. If someone is really that sensitive to the word "vagina", then probably they would have the sense to not be reading this thread anyway.

2. Don't patranonise people with triggers. Different ways to block words exist for a reson
3. As someone who was in the thread and mentioned vaginas I FICS as a squick. I am not squicked by vaginas, I am not squicked by this word. I am not squicked by my own vagina. I just don't enjoy reading about vaginal sex. In fics.
