I look at them as investments. This year my resolution is to relax more, because stress kills. My first purchase was a new computer because my current one is dying and it's very stressful trying to do workarounds. But into the rest of the year, I ask myself which decorations will be restful for me? Which books/movies/games will I enjoy? Which foods will satisfy my tastes? How can I get them sustainably?
