There are PLENTY of aesthetics and subcultures that have had problems with the fash, often ones that are actively hostile to them to begin with. Like... okay, I can't trust that someone is wholesome because they're cottagecore. I also can't trust that someone is in solidarity with me because he's punk, I can't trust that any given metalhead is a chill dude like the ones I've been friends with, I can't even trust that being a furry means someone is chill with my queer, disabled ass and there is no group queerer or more disabled in my experience than that particular community! Cottagecore isn't SPECIAL in that way, unless you've never encountered any of these other subcultures.
