It is a hassle to carry around at museums and such.

I have one that clips onto belts, purses, backpacks, etc. I have emergency pills and I have a really hard time taking them without water.

Oh? What is the brand?

It says RAYMYLO on it. I just grabbed one with a clip on it and wasn't paying attention to brands.

DA also most museums/venues don't allow outside drinks/food including water.

I've never been to any non-outdoors tourist spot anywhere that allowed food or drinks.

Don't you check your bag? With the bottle in it?

I'm honestly not trying to be combative, but I've traveled extensively and never been dehydrated in a museum.

No worries, the only times I've seen a coat check is outside the ticket booth. Tickets usually state you won't be allowed back in on discretion/upon leaving. I personally have never checked a bag/coat, but be it a sales tactic/safety measure I'm pretty sure they could charge you again if you claim your bag even if it's just to take a drink?
I've seen it in the fine print type of thing, I'm not sure they'll hold you to it. (aka depending on the museum/staff they could happily let you re-enter the museum after grabbing a drink as much as they could try and recharge you for both... aka I've mostly been to museums in america so i really have no clue)

But I've also been to museums that have a "does your bag fit" type of deal. They barely even checked what was inside. So I guess it mostly depends on what security they have... And if you have people throwing soup and superglueing themselves to priceless pieces of art, then even a sip of water can look suspicious.

Really?
Our museums can be draconian, but they at least allow you to keep your water in a locker or smth. I hate water lol but even I take it everywhere at summer

I'm here from 1980 to reveal that the human body can live several hours without drinking or pissing.

In fact, public school teachers can survive without doing either for 6+ hours.

Maybe break out of your comfort zone a little.

Ayrt

No. Also, teachers get so many health issues from that kind of shit.

Indeed they do! For a salary about the same as a garbage collector. Less than a UPS driver.

Six hours is a long time. You can survive two hours in a museum.

It's more like 8+ hours running around a city but okay.

OK yeah this is the ultimate stupid question.

The vast majority of cities have multiple sources of potable water.

All I can hear in my head is "ma ma, I want my ba ba!"

Genuinely, I've never been to a city where you can get water unless you buy it or have a water bottle handy. Especially after covid.

Are you having a bad day or something?

Re: Stupid Questions thread

(Anonymous) 2026-02-20 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
No, I'm genuinely perplexed.

Like, in emergencies, you know you can use your hands in a bathroom, right?

Re: Stupid Questions thread

(Anonymous) 2026-02-20 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
I was going to say. I've been in multiple cities on three different continents and I could easily access stuff to drink in every single one.

Re: Stupid Questions thread

(Anonymous) 2026-02-20 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Same, every major city I've been in has a potable fountain somewhere.

Re: Stupid Questions thread

(Anonymous) 2026-02-20 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I sweat heavily, I get dehydrated easily, and I have medications that I need to take and the pills are too large to swallow dry. This is fine as long as I'm in a building that has a water fountain, or a restaurant or something. But rather than purchase bottled water, I bring my own reusable bottle.

You can buy a sling for your Yeti or a smaller one for store bought water bottles.

I have no idea why the troll picked your thread to pounce but sheesh! You asked a very mild question in a question thread and someone got their panties in a twist because apparently they’re upset that school teachers drink water and go to the bathroom or something.

Thank you! I'll look into those. Yeah, not sure what made them do mad. Sorry I'm prone to kidney stones and need to stay hydrated. 😅
