PLUS FCKIN 1 (million)

I understand visceral gut bonding with a book franchise, tons of us have bee through this before (Neil Gaiman, Orson Scott Card, Eddings, MZ Bradley, Anne Rice oh shit there's been a lot of it). But at some point you will grow past the red line, you'll find yourself suddenly seeing the books on your shelf and going "maybe I can put this in a box in my closet instead of displaying them." If you don't actually reach that point, or even know in your heart of hearts that when you defend still reading them you're privately at war with yourself knowing how much you shouldn't...then we're gonna have a problem.

Anyone who still needs to re-re-read them and indulge in the characters and storyline, ngl, I'm gonna side-eye, but if you're not a close friend who knows about my transition, I ain't saying shit to your face. If I don't know you, I don't care. But if I do know you, and see these books on your shelf, this trans person is gonna raise a lot of eyebrows.

DA

This judgement of others does work. It cured me of my love for the series. I can no longer associate HP with anything but being hated as a person.

I write vampire fanfiction and I don't care if it pissed off Anne Rice or now, her ghost.
